What a wonderful day. It’s been over a year since Leah and her family were here at our house.
They all got here around noon. Joel too. Henry barely remembered our house. Eleanor has never been here. We had Wilson stay with a friend today as the dogs make the boys nervous.
We played here, legos, magnet building blocks, train tracks. We ate lunch then loaded the kids up in the wagon and Eleanor in the umbrella stroller and walked down to show them the practice and cofffee shop. So hard to believe they hadn’t been there! Joel had since he stayed with us during quarantine.

We then walked to the park and the kids flew a kite that Scott bought. They loved it! Emmet ran all over the park yelling while Henry kept saying, “I can’t catch it,” and wore my sunglasses. I laid in the grass with Eleanor.

Eleanor is almost 8 months and is in the stage of “stranger danger”. She gave me lots of smiles but also cried worriedly when Leah wasn’t close. I did get some quality time with her.
All of the kids did great considering they haven’t been very many places in the last year. Henry forgot to use the potty so we had to make a target run to get him some more underwear after a couple of accidents.
We had two meals, lunch, then barbecued brats and ate outside. It was such a beautiful day. The boys loved trying to play ping pong. I laughed so hard. Henry whacked the ball hard and Emmet whiffed it a bunch. Emmet did a great job with corn hole and Henry throws a mean frisbee. They also made Joel have a tea party with tiny dishes.

I adore my family and I loved having them today.
